Mentoring program of the Medical Faculty for excellent young scientists (moments)

The Medical Faculty of the LMU Munich wants to promote the scientific potential of women and men and supports outstanding young scientists with its mentoring program on the way to a professorship. The focus of the mentoring program is the transfer of knowledge and experience for developing and pursuing individually viable strategies for a career in science. In the medium term, the Medical Faculty would like to contribute to increasing the number of female professors at universities and to improving the compatibility of academic qualifications and family.

The sponsored mentees conclude an individual agreement on the mentoring relationship with the respective mentors, in which the duration, the contact mode and the individual goals of the mentoring relationship are specified. The mentors support the mentees in planning their careers in individual or group discussions. If it is deemed useful, you can also support the mentees financially in their scientific advancement. Eligible are among others: Workshops and trainings, travel expenses and support for childcare outside of regular care and assistants.

Mentors 2024/2025:

  • Prof. Dr. Nikolaos Koutsouleris, Speaker, Department of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy
  • Prof. Dr. Claudia Bausewein, Director Department of Palliative Medicine
  • Prof. Dr. Christine Falter-Wagner, Department of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy

  • Prof. Dr. Martin Kerschensteiner, Director Institute of Clinical Neuroimmunology
  • Prof. Dr. Anne Krug, Institute for Immunology
  • Prof. Dr. Eva Rehfuess, Institute of Medical Data Processing, Biometrics and Epidemiology (IBE)
The mentoring program of the Medical Faculty would also like to offer the mentees the opportunity to network within the faculty in order to exchange experiences, pass on knowledge and information and support each other in their scientific careers.
