ERC Starting Grant - T-cell driven inflammatory mechanisms promote recovery after acute brain injury (RecoverInFlame)

  • Project leader: Prof. Dr. Arthur Liesz
  • Affiliation: Institute for Stroke and Dementia Research (ISD)
  • Funding: 2018 to 2023

Project description:

In the ERC project entitled "T-cell driven inflammatory mechanisms promote recovery after acute brain injury", the role of T-cells in the healing process after brain injury is to be investigated. In earlier studies, Arthur Liesz was able to show that the recruitment of T-cells is an essential mechanism of the inflammatory process in the brain after a stroke. The aim of the ERC project is to identify the therapeutic potential of T-cells in brain injury.
