Heisenberg Professorship - Deciphering molecular mechanisms of preferential degeneration of midbrain neurons in neurodegenerative diseases.

  • Speaker: Prof. Dr. Lena Burbulla
  • Affiliation: Chair of Metabolic Biochemistry, Biomedical Center (BMC)
  • Funding: since 2022

The aim of the Heisenberg Program is to enable outstanding scientists who meet all the requirements for appointment to a long-term professorship to prepare for a scientific leadership position and to work on advanced research topics during this time. In the pursuit of this goal, project-based approaches do not always have to be chosen and implemented. For this reason, no "summary" of project descriptions and project results is required in the application and also later in the writing of final reports - in contrast to other funding instruments. Thus, such information is not provided in GEPRIS either.
