International Board
The international board (IB) was established at the Faculty of Medicine and LMU University Hospital as the central, responsible committee for the internationalization strategy with the primary mission of structuring, accelerating, and promoting the international development of LMU medicine. The kick-off meeting took place at the dean’s office of the Faculty of Medicine on October 9th, 2023.
The activities of the IB aim to refine the international profile and increase the visibility of LMU Medicine internationally. In addition, the recruitment, training and advanced education of top international talent for research, teaching and clinical practice as well as the significant shaping of international health topics will be promoted.
The main task of the IB is to formulate an internationalization strategy for the institutional support of cooperations, programs and strategic partnerships. Together with its working groups, supporting processes for the implementation of the internationalization strategy and the committee's resolutions will be designed.
Structurally, the IB consists of the chairman, Prof. Gudermann, dean of the Medical Faculty, and the deputy chairman, Prof. Lerch, medical director of the LMU University Hospital as well as further board members from the faculty management and from various working groups with respective different international topics and areas of responsibility.
The International Board is now considered as central point of contact for reviewing and evaluating international requests for cooperation and delegation visits at institutional level (see contact below).
