Physicians have to make their treatment desicions based on empirically proven evidence. But to do so they need to understand the medical literature and to interpret the data published in different studies.

From Bench to Bedside students:

  • are exposed to medical research in an academic medical environment
  • learn about the different research methods as well as the pros and cons of using them for various scientific problems
  • meet international scientists undertaking research at LMU

During Lab Visits, students familiarize themselves with lab work and get the chance to ask questions and discuss ideas with experts in different fields.
The opportunity to have ethical discussions with other international students from different cultural backgrounds and healthcare delivery systems about the benefits and limitations of research will be an enriching experience. They will also be able to learn more about scientific career development, and how research findings are incorporated in patient care.

The Summer School also features an entertaining social and cultural program. On weekends, students or nearby attractions such as Neuschwanstein Castle and Salzburg.
